how to create a simple pulse generator

Hey if you want to produce a pulse (measured in Hz) to use in maybe one of your electronic circuits, then your in luck because i personally used this technique and it proved very useful.

1. First thing first is you need to get you tools with first is a circuit board with can be a PCB or not but i will advise against that its a waste of money.
2. Then you acquire the other remainding components witch are a 7400 IC NAND gate a couple of resistors and capacitors( depends on your pulse requirement and to find what types of capacitors you need use this formula f = 1 / (2.2 x R x C) where f = pulse/frequency)
3. to explain use this example if you want a frequency of 50 kilohertz and you have a 1K ohm resistor handy, use a 9 nanofarad capacitor.
4. now once you found your required capacitors and resistors you can start to build by Insert a 7400 IC into the breadboard  in the middle of the board. 
5. Take care so the pins go straight in and don't bend or break. With a power supply of maybe 5 or 6 DC power supply off, connect positive power and ground to the breadboard.
6. Then Using 22-gauge jumper wires, connect positive power and ground from the breadboard buss to pins 14 and 7 of the IC. Jumper pin 1 to 2, 3 to 4, and 4 to 5. Insert the resistor so one lead connects to pin 3 and the other connects to pin 1. Insert the capacitor  so one lead connects to pin 6 and the other connects to pin 1.
7. Then you connect the power supply and when you connect this little project to a oscilloscope and you should see a square wave of the pulse that you wanted

Now imagine a future when their is no need for a drivers license and the reduction of car accidents i mean most car accidents are human error.
